Abbreviation: DITL7-MA
Duration: 72 weeks
Intakes: February / April / July / September
Entry Criteria: Successful completion of 12 years of school education. Entry to the first year requires an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher.
Direct entry to Year 2 requires a relevant Diploma in Computing equivalent to Level 5 or a degree level qualification in a non-computing area.
Entry to the second year requires an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher.

Overview

The aim of this diploma is to deliver a coherent 2 year course of study with a speciality in Networking Management & Administration to Learners with no prior computing background. They will be capable to support existing systems, administer network server systems, build, optimise and manage complex commercial computing networks and network server systems. By the time they graduate they will be capable of working with autonomy in the management of these systems. The Diploma offers an opportunity to acquire Cisco and Microsoft certifications.

Graduate Profile

The graduate will be able to:

  • work effectively with minimal assistance in the management of large enterprise networks.
  • contribute to decisions relating to the optimisation and implementation of enterprise networks
  • work within an environment which utilises routing and computer network technologies manufactured by major international network vendors.
  • become both CISCO and Microsoft certified engineer
  • progress to a more advanced programmes which explore the design and management of complex and sophisticated network systems

Year 1

In year 1, graduates will learn a set of modules that will prepare them as a support technicians and server administrators in the ICT industry. At the end of Year 1 they will be capable of administering and supporting Microsoft networks and servers.
